Our senior community relies on the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority Firefighters in Sun Lakes. There are two stations that provide service to Sun Lakes.
Did you know that these young men and women are responsible for their own meals while working their long shifts?
The Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation is sponsoring the 2nd annual walkathon in Oakwood to supplement the fire fighters’ out of pocket food expenses.
You can participate in many ways. You can choose to walk in spirit (virtual walk / donation) or walk 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 2 miles. You choose your level of support and the distance you would like to walk.
You may also include an additional donation on top of your level of walk-a-thon support. This donation will further support the firefighters’ food fund.
Breakfast is included in your registration and we will be holding a raffle at the event (tickets to be sold by our Sun Lakes firefighters at the event).
Please note that our Walkathon registration provider (Zeffy) asks for an optional tip. This optional tip allows us to avoid credit card charges, thus giving more to the firefighters for their food fund.
